Upon learning that filming for the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier will take place in Ohio through the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, Ohio House Speaker William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) released the following statement:

“I was extremely pleased to learn that, yet again, another motion picture is going to be filmed in Ohio. The Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit continues to be a driving force in bringing more of the film-production industry to Ohio, and I’m proud that the Ohio House passed legislation earlier this year to reauthorize and increase the funding for the credit under the leadership of Representative Mike Dovilla (R-Berea).

“Representative Dovilla recognized early on the benefits that attracting film projects to Ohio bring. These projects are providing more jobs and economic development, all while boosting the restaurants, hotels and small businesses that benefit from bringing the production crews into our state.

“I’m confident that the expansion of the Motion Picture Tax Credit will continue to bring jobs to Ohio, and I thank Representative Dovilla for bringing this bipartisan piece of legislation before the Ohio House of Representatives.”
