State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) was recently asked and has agreed to serve on the All-Star Ambassadors Team for the 2013 NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus.

The Ambassadors Team will be responsible for welcoming visitors and representing the community during the NHL All-Star Weekend, which is scheduled for January. The ceremonial team is comprised of community leaders who understand all that Columbus has to offer and feel passionately about sharing the city with the world.

“It is a high priority to promote tourism to central Ohio and specifically Franklin County,” said Rep. Gonzales. “Having an opportunity to place our region center stage for a global media event is exciting and something of which we must take advantage.”

The NHL All-Star Weekend is expected to generate an estimated $12 million in visitor spending with 140,000 hockey fans and 20,000 out-of-town visitors coming to central Ohio. The celebration will feature various hockey-themed events, entertainment and activities.
