State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) recently attended the VFW Post 10523 honoring three individuals of the Canal Winchester Human Services Group.

Mike Pohorilla, a VFW member and WWll veteran, organized the event and invited Representative Gonzales to help honor these individuals. The three women—Pat Hartman, Jo Weiser and Penny Miller—were honored for their many years of devotion to service and achievement.

“The program provides assistance to Canal Winchester seniors, children and individuals throughout the year,” said Gonzales. “These women and all of the volunteers continually give of their time and energy. I and the VFW Post 10523 are proud to recognize their hard work to the residents of Canal Winchester.”

Penny Miller has been the administrative Coordinator for the Canal Winchester Human Services since 2005. Jo Weiser was recognized for being the trustee of the CW Human Services Board of Directors since its inception in 1955. Pat Hartman who was unable to attend was honored for her distinguished volunteering efforts since its inception in 1955.
