State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) announced that she was selected as a 2011 scholarship recipient of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD), a training program that identifies and assists promising state leaders in the Midwest.
The program gives lawmakers from 11 member states and 4 Canadian providences of the Midwestern Legislative Conference the opportunity to meet in Madison, Wisconsin for a seminar on leadership training and various policy areas. Participants are selected through a competitive, nonpartisan selection process.
“It is a true honor for me to have been selected as a recipient of the BILLD scholarship.” Representative Anielski said. “The best way to grow professionally is to engage with other motivated leaders, which is exactly what the BILLD program allowed me to do.”
BILLD was founded in 1995 as a program of the Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Office, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin’s Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs.
