In an effort to boost Ohio’s manufacturing industry and obtain input from local interested parties, the Ohio House 21st Century Manufacturing Task Force today toured DuPont’s Circleville plant and held a hearing at Ohio Christian University.

The task force welcomed a panel of manufacturing executives to facilitate a discussion and answer questions from members of the public who were in attendance.

Panelists representing chemical, paper, foundries and shale-related manufacturing included President of American Chemistry Council Cal Dooley; Senior Executive of American Natural Gas Alliance Michelle Bloodworth; Chairman and CEO of the Shepherd Chemical Company Tom Shepherd; General Manager of International Paper Richard Murrin; President of OSCO Industries John Burke.

The task force has held hearings throughout Ohio that each emphasized a specific aspect of manufacturing in Ohio, with the goal of showcasing the industry’s diversity and importance to the state.

The next hearing will be held at Worthington Industries in Columbus on November 15th.
