State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Independence) recently presented a House commendation to 25 area veterans who participated in the Honor Flight Cleveland program.

Rep. Anielski volunteered as a guardian on Honor Flight Cleveland, which takes veterans from around the Cleveland area to Washington D.C. for a day to see monuments and other attractions. Each veteran has a guardian that accompanies them throughout the day. Rep. Anielski accompanied Leonard Senkfor, an 86-year-old Navy Veteran from Pepper Pike, throughout the day.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to accompany Len and the 24 other brave veterans that served our country and to visit all the monuments in our nation’s capital,” Rep. Anielski said.

Honor Flight Cleveland is a non-profit organization and has been flying veterans to Washington DC since 2007.
