State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) surprised Stephen Hudak, a Brecksville resident, with a commendation Monday at the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association board meeting. The FCSLA currently provides their services in 47 states and Washington D.C. Stephen Hudak is being recognized for his new position as National Treasurer on the Board of Directors.

“I am honored to have been able to present a commendation to Steve Hudak on receiving the position of National Treasurer,” Rep Anielski said. “Through Steve’s hard work and dedication to the association, he is well deserving of this honor.”

Representative Anielski also recently attended a luncheon honoring Sally Florkiewicz, Cleveland State University’s second longest serving trustee in history. Her term began on June 26, 1998 and ended on May 1, 2003. Florkiewicz was then reappointed to the Board only after two short months, in July of 2003 and served until May of this year.

Not only has Florkiewicz served on the Board of Trustees, but she has been active in “Support our Troops” programs and also has been involved with the Ohio Republican Party. Representative Anielski presented Florkiewicz with a commendation from the State of Ohio for all of her accomplishments at Cleveland State University.

“As an educator, philanthropist, consummate volunteer and community leader, Sally Florkiewicz is proof of what dedication and compassion can accomplish,” said Representative Anielski. “I am honored to have been able to meet with and present this commendation to such an outstanding member of our community.”
