State Representative Ron Amstutz (R-Wooster) was recently awarded the 2012 AMVETS “Legislator of the Year” Award for his support and work on behalf of the veterans of Ohio.

“Representative Amstutz was instrumental in helping to maintain appropriations for veteran services organizations allowing them to provide services to Ohio veterans,” said George Ondick, executive director of the AMVETS Department of Ohio. “The award was a way to recognize his availability and receptiveness to our various veteran related issues.”

In responding to receipt of the award, Representative Amstutz said, “In resolving a very tough budget where we had to lower appropriations for nearly all our partners, we were pleased to give a high priority to veterans’ services.”

Representative Amstutz was one of only four Ohio legislators who received this honor.
