State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) recently presented a House commendation to the members of New Albany City Council to praise the city’s excellence in financial reporting and to commemorate its receipt of two prestigious budgetary awards.

The city was awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for meeting the highest quality standards for record keeping and financial reporting. Additionally, New Albany was awarded the “Making your Tax Dollars Count Award” from Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost, recognizing the city as a responsible guardian of the public purse and demonstrating New Albany’s commitment to careful spending.

“The citizens of the City of New Albany should be very proud of their elected officials and staff for their fiscal responsibility as demonstrated by these awards,” Representative Gonzales said.
