Speaker of the Ohio House William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) has announced that Tony DeVitis, of Summit County, today was sworn in as state representative of the 43rd Ohio House District.
“I am honored to join the General Assembly and to serve the people of the 43rd House District,” Representative DeVitis said. “It is truly a blessing to live in a country that is free and that has provided me this great opportunity.”
“Representative DeVitis will be a fine addition to this caucus and to this institution as a whole,” Speaker Batchelder said. “He brings a variety of public and private sector experience to the table, which I believe will serve him well in this capacity. I am confident that he will be a faithful, dedicated public servant for the 43rd District and look forward to serving with him.”
An 18-year resident of Summit County, Representative DeVitis is the owner and vice president of the family-owned DeVitis & Sons, Inc., an Italian specialty food store in North Hill. He served as Councilman for Ward 3, where he served as the Chair of the Rules and Personnel Committee, Vice Chair of the Public Safety Committee, a member of the Finance Committee and was the Council President Pro Tem.
Representative DeVitis and his wife, Kathleen, have two children, Evelyn and Clark.
