Some local students today participated in State Representative Bob Peterson’s “Legislator For a Day” program at the Statehouse in Columbus. The students were selected after participating in an essay contest about Ohio.

The winners of the contest were Trevor Minyo and Christina Luebbe, both of Fayette County.

The group spent the afternoon learning about the legislative process, touring the Capitol and casting a vote on the floor of the House Chamber with Representative Peterson. They also took the opportunity to question the representative about his duties in Columbus during a private luncheon.

“I was happy to have Trevor and Christina come and learn about Ohio’s government while at the Statehouse,” Representative Peterson said. “I look forward to having even more children from the 85th House District participate in the program next summer.”
