Speaker of the Ohio House William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) today appointed State Representative Craig Newbold (R-Columbiana) to serve on the House Finance and Appropriations Committee, as well as the Higher Education Subcommittee of the Finance and Appropriations Committee.

“Representative Newbold is one of the most diligent, hardworking and astute members of our caucus,” Speaker Batchelder said. “As chairman of the Technology in State Government Study Committee, he is leading our efforts toward a more effective and cost-efficient government structure, and I am confident that he will bring that same capable leadership to his new position on the Finance and Appropriations Committee.”

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve on the Finance Committee and to continue the work of getting our financial house in order,” Rep. Newbold said. “I am grateful that Speaker Batchelder has appointed me to serve on this important committee.”

In addition to his recent appointments, Rep. Newbold also is the vice-chair of the Education Committee and serves on the Local Government Committee and the Economic and Small Business Development Committee.
