The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections has announced changes to the ownership and operation of prisons statewide in order to achieve cost savings and additional room for inmates. In response to the department’s announcement, State Representative Terry Boose (R-Norwalk Township) has released the following statement on how these changes effect the 58th Ohio House District:

“The changes that the DRC made in Grafton are a win-win situation for everyone in the 58th House District. With the state taking over the North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility while combining its forces with Grafton Correctional Institute, which is literally across the street, this merger will benefit the taxpayers with an estimated savings of over $7 million. This will benefit the hard-working employees of both facilities by preserving good paying jobs in the 58th House District. This deal is common sense in action.”
