State Representative Al Landis (R-Dover) has announced that the Controlling Board released nearly $1.3 million to the Community Improvement Corporation of Tuscarawas County for the purchase of machinery, equipment, and an existing building. The property will be leased to Stillwater Creek, LLC.
According to documents from the Office of Budget and Management, as a result of the project and state assistance provided, Stillwater Creek has committed to create 89 new, full-time jobs with hourly wages of $12 in the Village of Midvale.
“The investment with CIC is an investment for people and the jobs we so desperately need here in Tuscarawas County and the 96th district,” Rep. Landis said. “Our focus has been on jobs, keeping business here in Ohio and helping them expand. We will gladly welcome 89 new jobs to our area."
The project involves the purchase of an existing building and existing machinery and equipment to be used for furniture manufacturing.
