State Representative Tim Derickson (R-Oxford) applauded the bipartisan Workforce Development Study Committee’s successful hearing in Middletown, where the committee and members of the public discussed various issues to make Ohio a national leader in developing a well-trained and educated workforce.

“Not only was yesterday’s hearing well-attended, but the witnesses who testified were extremely knowledgeable on Workforce Development programs in the area,” said Derickson, who serves as chairman of the committee. “We are fortunate to have such committed individuals helping local residents prepare for and find work.”

The Workforce Development Study Committee will be holding three more hearings in Athens (9/29), Bowling Green and Elyria (both on 10/3). Interested parties may notify the committee of their intent to attend a particular hearing or submit comments by emailing ohhouseworkforcedevelopment@gmail.com.

Upon completing the necessary research, the committee intends to put forth an executive summary and possible recommendations for the Legislature.
